Music Ministry
Steel Drums
St. Marks Steel rehearses on Monday evenings from 5-6p. We play a variety of music ranging from hymns arranged with calypso rhythm to music like “Margaritaville.” We play for worship occasionally but most of our playing occurs out in the community in many venues – from Art Walk to Power Park ballgames to concerts at the Library. We enjoy representing St. Marks and would love to have you join us. Music reading is required to play the drums but isn’t necessary for rhythm instruments.
Choir
Adult
The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7 – 8:30p. We sing for the 10:45 Traditional Worship Service using a variety of anthems to fit the scripture and sermon theme. We take a one-month sabbatical starting in mid-June. Our current roster has 20 singers. We welcome new singers at any time – no audition required.
Children
The Children’s Choir (Kindergarten – 5th Grade) rehearses for 20 minutes after the 10:45 Worship Service from September through May. We sing for worship about once a month. Please consider having your child join us!
Handbells
St. Marks Handbells rehearse on Wednesdays from
6 – 6:45p from September through May. We ring in worship about once a month. Currently we play 3 octaves of handbells (11 players), but we have the bells to play 5 octaves. We would love to have you join us. Music reading is not essential, but helpful.
